What about Ensure? It is sugary, nonacidic, and nutritious.

Apricot Nectar has low acidic content and will provide him with 35g sugar which is from fructose.

He can drink water and eat whole, healthy foods. NO sugar, no grains. Sugar feeds cancer, and so do foods which convert to sugar in the body. Does he have diabetes?

He really needs to talk with a doctor who has decent advice.
