Can riverbanks be made from sand?

Usually, the bank of a river is muddy or whatever, but I wanted to know is that can they naturally be made of sand? I've seen where rivers have been made into beaches but I've always assumed the sand placed there by a man instead of nature.

So I guess my question is can beaches naturally form on riverbanks?

Yes, but ir would erode quickly.

Ever note those sandy beaches along rivers, you go into the water, it becomes rocky.

Why would you assume it was placed there by man and not nature?

    • I don't know. Because the sand is really clean and it's only in certain areas? It doesn't stretch over long distances

    Yes, it's common enough.

Naw. Have you ever heard of anyone making a sandcastle at a river?

    • Well usually people say they make one at the beach. But I know of beaches that are on rivers. What I want to know is if it's possible for those beaches to form naturally or if they're all man made. No one ever says I made a sandcastle at the sea either you know.
