Can you improve your turnout as an adult?

And if so, how?

You can’t change the amount of turnout you are born with. What you can do is work on opening up the turnout that you have and learn to strengthen it by engaging it. Turnout has a lot to do with your hip rotators as well as the depth of your hip sockets. You can open your turnout by doing the butterfly and frog but never force your turnout. You won’t improve it but will only torque your knees if your force it. When you work at the barre make sure you fully engage and hold your turnout. That way you will gain usable turnout. Make sure you always warm up before any work or stretching by getting your heart rate up first.

You won't be able to improve it a lot like you would as a child but you still can make an obvious improvement. You can look for turnout exercises on the internet. One that helped me was the frog exercise.
