How can you predict which bond in each of the following groups will be the most polar?

    You will need a periodic table to answer these questions.

    If you do down the columns on the periodic table the electronegativity will tend to decrease.

    If you go across the rows the eletronegativity will tend to increase.

    The bigger the difference in eletronegativity the more polar the bond will be.

    From these 3 rules we can solve all of these.

    Ge-F (F is really eletro negative and Ge is the least of the 3 cause it goes down the column)

    P-Cl (Furthest apart in the same row)

    S-F (F is the most eletronegative)

    Ti-Cl (Both Si and Ge are more eletronegative based on the trend)
