When authoring a book, of a sordid type, why may formal legal releases be required as it may pertain to an unknown legal investigation?

As it relates to "terrorism"?

They NEVER are, so the question is moot.

    Very good question.

Formal legal releases are required so that no one can sue your a$$ off - or that of your publisher.

    • Yes, or so no one ends up dead when L.E. ignores real concerns.
