The northernmost point of Maine (part of Massachusetts back then) is at 47 deg 28' N, 69 deg 13' W. The southernmost point of Georgia is at 30.3561 deg N, 82.0656 deg W. You could have an interesting research project, looking to see what the boundaries were in 1783. The distance is 3274 miles.

The land that is now Maine, was part of the original 13 states. It was part of Massachusetts in 1783. Maine became a separate state on March 15, 1820.

Oops, I should have carried the 3 and divided by the square root of pi.  The distance is 1365 miles.
