Why is it that we as humans fear change in our lives especially when it’s outside of our control?

It is not a trait that is held only by humans,  Most animals seem to display the same problem with change.  The reason is sort of simple: life is dangerous and when you do not know what is coming and you can't do anything about it, it means danger (risk of bad events) is high.  We fear situations where danger is high.  that is basically what fear is.

So, change of unknown nature that is outside of our control is seen as dangerous, because it generally is dangerous.  It can kill us or if we are lucky only harm us.  We do not want to die and we do not want to be harmed.

And I think all animals with any reasonable level of consciousness recognize this truth.
