when a Dr. is doing eye surgery and says don't eat solids, does that mean jello with fruit?

jello is a solid

Yes, it means don't eat Jell-o with fruit. Fruit is a solid. As for Jell-o, in general it's fine, but most doctors request you not eat a red flavor. It can leave a residue that looks like blood, leading to confusion. In fact, that goes for anything with red or purple coloring.

Yes. I'm actually not sure about the jello but don't eat anything with pieces of solid food.

The Jello is fine (it turns into a liquid at body temperature), but fruit is a solid food and therefore not part of a liquid diet.

Jello should be fine.
NO FRUIT - fruit would be a "solid".
