-10 is to the right on a number line, thus it is "more".

The problem with using English words in regards to math is that the words are ambiguous, vague, and can be easily misunderstood. Bigger can mean "greater value" or in absolute size like absolute value of each.

-10 is the least negative, there fore it's the most positive, thus the bigger number.
