why there is no laptop with 8 cores cpu?

Are 4 cores the limit?

There are such laptops, but as others have pointed out, laptops are harder to cool, so 8 cores would cause instability if running at full speed. Also, 8 cores draw a lot more energy, and energy saving is also an important factor in laptops (as you want that battery to last as long as possible). 8 cores would drain that battery much faster, and the effects are limited (if you want a gaming rig, buy a desktop computer. laptops are not designed for speed, but for mobility/efficiency. That's why it makes little sense to cram an overheating 8-core into a laptop.

how you want to handle the processing heat?

the problem is the temperature. you need more heatsink, and laptop is so compact to have that good enought. look for macbook pro with i9, it have problems with heat.

to increase the performance there are the 8 cores in the cpu

No 4 isn't the limit,8 is an update.

7 core has been out a while now, so 8 is probably available. Depending on the architecture, this is more than needed by humans.

4 pipeline cores can do all, little advantage to more.

most i7 processors aren't 7 cores they are 4 cores with 4 virtual cores , and the first generations where dual cores with  2 virtual cores the and current technology is up to 16 cores per processor although there is a 32 core processor in development

There are 8 core CPU laptops, but that is not the best way to judge performance because it does not include what happens in one core nor core usage by software.

And certainly, in gaming, graphics processing counts far more and fewer stronger cores of a CPU often beat more weaker cores.

There are sometimes cheap laptops and tablets that use cell phone processors such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 which has 8 cores but not high performance like this Lenovo Yoga C630

A laptop can sometimes use a Desktop marketed CPU if power use is low enough.

Laptops run on batteries when not plugged in and are smaller and lighter weight than tower PCs and wattage is an issue. Powerful 8 core modern CPUs often have heat dissipation issues.

look in higher cost laptops. laptops have an inherent cooling problem -- limited airflow

    Apparently there are:

BUT prior to this it was probably due to power requirements and the lack of cooling or room for cooling.
