What do you think?

Ok so, apparently pregnancies last nine months right? How is that even possible? 8 weeks is a month pregnant. Four weeks in a month. Not 8. If you think about were pregnant for 10 months not nine

Lunar months are four weeks/28 days.  Calendar months are not, with the exception of February (unless it's a leap year).  Seven months of the year are 31 days.  Five are 30.  One is 28.   If you calculate 4 weeks = 1 month, you're going to need 13 months in a calendar year.  Essentially anyone who claims 4 weeks = 1 calendar month (which is how pregnancy is calculated) isn't thinking logically.

If you take a calendar, start from January 1st, and count 40 weeks, you get to October 8th.  Nine months, one week.  The first two weeks of pregnancy you aren't pregnant.  Actual fetal age is 38 weeks at 40 weeks gestation.  So it's entirely accurate to say pregnancy is nine months.

It takes 28 days to make 4 weeks.

Most months have 30 or 31 days - not just 28.

40 "weeks" is 280 days - divided by an average of 30 days in a month is 9.3.  Basically, that would be about 9 months and 10 days.

One other thing to consider - 40 weeks INCLUDES the two weeks BEFORE ovulation when  you are NOT EVEN ACTUALLY pregnant yet.

From actual conception to birth is actually about 38 weeks - which IS NINE MONTHS.

Before the medical world created ways to more accurately see and measure fetus size and development, one of the measurement that doctors had to determine a baby's likely due date was the fact that most women would have their baby ABOUT 40 weeks AFTER their last period.  But from the date of the period to the date of actual conception is USUALLY about two more weeks for the AVERAGE woman.  (some women with longer or shorter cycles could have a slightly different timeline.)

Pregnancy lasts around 9 months. A pregnancy is counted from the FIRST day of the last menstrual period. 8 weeks pregnant is NOT one month pregnant - it's 2 months pregnant. There are 4 weeks in a month. Two months equal 8 weeks.

The Pregnancy gestation period is actually 40 weeks or 10 months, This is why babies are usually "late". They are not really late, they are pretty much on time.

    ' Four weeks in a month '

Only in February and only if it's not a leap year.

    52 weeks/yr / 12 months/yr =  4 1/3 weeks per month.  Over 9 months, that 1/3 adds up.

You are mistaken. One month pregnant is = to 4 weeks, so your math is way off. Nine months or 40 weeks or roughly 280 days is considered normal gestation.

It's about 10 menstrual cycles per pregnancy.

On average, the menstrual cycle is about 27.5 days. that's about 275 days, which is very close to 9 months.

Oh: as for the 8 weeks -- that's towards the end of the second menstrual cycle,,,,,
