Why are boys taught from a young age that being gay is bad? Girls aren’t pressured that much to be straight like boys. Why is that? ?

Parents seem to worry more that their son turns out to be gay than their daughter to turn out lesbian.

Parents always push their boys to be big, bad and straight. They do not want a "sissy boy". Men can not handle that. If a boy mentions he wants to study art, dance, ANYTHING THAT IS NOT CONSIDERED MASCULINE, they freak out. They become ashamed.

It is ok that girls are tomboys. Also girls are encouraged to be close to their girl friends; that's the reason they have sleepovers. They share a lot: hair styling, makeup, boy problems, girl 'personal' problems, complaints about cliques in school, favorite tv stars and singers.

  • I guess masculinity is a lot more fragile and it tends to be enforced harder subconsciously as a result?

We are a competitive species with a hierarchical society. Boys compete with each other, demonstrate dominance, aggression, and use intimidation to determine their position in the hierarchy. Those at the bottom of the hierarchy are bullied incessantly.

Parents are always trying to have the best interests of their children at heart. They try to prevent their children from doing things that will make their life more difficult. They want their children to be happy and successful. They discourage homosexuality because that is seen as making their lives difficult.

"Girls aren’t pressured that much to be straight like boys."

And you know this how? They are pressured too.

Many parents look forward to seeing their sons grow up, get married and produce children. Homosexual acts are unnatural and obscene because they involve sexual activity that was not intended by our Creator. Homosexual acts cannot produce offspring. (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)

Boys are taught that way because their fathers were taught that way because THEIR fathers were taught that way.  Mothers also reinforce those lessons, because they learned the same things growing up.  The very people reading this and shaking their heads at it are likely to teach the exact same things to their children.  It is a culturally-transmitted prejudice or taboo.  Such things are very strong and pervasive, and extremely difficult if not impossible to displace.

I'm not sure that a daughter's announcement that she is a lesbian is any more welcome than a son's announcement that he is gay.  If there is any difference, on average, in the reaction to the two, it's that the parents are MORE likely to beat the boy, abuse him, or throw him onto the streets than they are the girl, because girls are thought to be more dependent and more delicate.  The sharper reaction can also result from boys becoming more difficult to handle, physically and spiritually, during adolescence than some girls.  Boys are generally more apt to try to find ways to engage in sex than most girls, so there is perhaps more worry on the part of parents regarding sons engaging in "inappropriate" sex, than daughters.

Because people see gay boys as feminine, and in society being a feminine boy or feminity in general, is seen as weak or bad, while the opposite is true for masculinity, masculine girls and lesbians. But ofc not everyone is like this or thinks like this, and not all boys and girls are taught that way

Boys are not taught that by any intelligent parents or teachers.

    Neither are girls.

It would achieve nothing to do that anyway, as people are gay, straight or bisexual from birth - or even before.
