Narrow-mindedness, lack of education, and a willingness to depart reality and live in a fantasy land are key components necessary in any true "believer".  All religious thought finds its roots in mental illnesses.

I'm an atheist and I can assure you that most of them are not intolerant or negative.

Really? I know hundreds of them, and none of they seem that way to me. Do you actually know any?

Some people use their religion as a justification for their own personal bigotry. I have been guilty of this myself. I friggin hate rich people. So what do I do? I say God hates rich people too.

Because that is how their biblical “god” was, and they want to be good, obedient soldiers for him.

Fear not, @GodsDontExist...The right-wing trolls here can report all they want.  Yahoo! has ways of detecting a violation of its standards.  Truthfulness and tact don't get flagged.
