Why do conservatives claim Trump's policies are responsible for a good economy, when Trump inherited a good economy?

Sorry conservatives- Trump didn't turn the economy around.

Economic growth & employment began to show improvement around 2010

Many experts believe Trump's policies have little to do with the economic success.

The economy is growing at the same rate it did under the Obama administration

INHERITING a good economy is not an accomplishment. Maintaining stable economic growth comparable to Obama administration does not make Trump's policies better for the economy than Obama's

It's all LIES.

Trump didn't make the economy great. It was already good when Obama left office.

You don't know what you're talking about. Economic growth under Obama was perpetually sluggish. Quarterly GDP growth rate by quarter bears this out. Remember the "Summer of Recovery". It's was Obama's master plan to get the economy humming again, it didn't work. He kept trying and kept getting a sluggish economy. The mear mention of a Republican coming into office was enough to goose it. Then when Trump mentioned tax cuts, the economy took off.

    Policy-wise..you're right.

His policies have little to do with creating a strong economic boom..but his presence in the oval office has, thus far, inspired the economy.

The economy is actually based less on Presidential Policy and more on consumer confidence, as well as the confidence of businesses and corporations.

Contrary to liberal opinion, tax breaks also help.

The recovery did keep going and is now the longest recovery ever.  That needs an explanation. Trump is the first motivational speaker/President.  Nobel-prize winning economist Robert Shiller predicts that President Donald Trump’s “bullish effect” on financial markets will keep any recession at bay for many years. The Yale University economics professor explained to CNBC that Trump fosters an economic environment that is conducive to strong consumer spending, which is a major deterrent to any recession

Trump improved the rate of improvement. And he further improved the economy. For example, GDP exceeded 3% during Trump's presidency but never did under Obama.

There were eight separate quarters where GDP grew by more than 3 percent under Obama.  Good try, however, liar.  And Trump's "rate of improvement", whatever that is, is too poorly defined to have any meaning.

Thanks Obama, you were the best president ever.

    • Said no taxpayer EVER ! YOU can’t name a single policy that was worth it ! He was the best at what exactly ? Destroying healthcare ? Record high food stamp recipients ? Weaponizing the IRS, FBI and DOJ ? Arming the Mexican cartel ? Geez I’d be here all day and I voted for him, TWICE

  • VERY FUNNY ------ because OBAMA had already promised that the economy WASN'T going to get better.

That, SIR, makes you out to be a liar.

All metrics indicate a better economy: unemployment, wage growth, stock market, job vacancies, manufacturing.  You clowns are bald faced liars.   LOL
