What criminal code, or federal statute did the democrats cite in their articles of impeachment?

MAX- Impeachment isn't a political issue. The constitution clearly states it requires a high CRIME, or misdemeanor.

Update 2:

SALLY- Perhaps the part of the constitution that states a president can be impeached for high CRIMES is why people confuse impeachment with a crime......But it is nice to see you acknowledge President Trump has committed no crime.

Update 3:

James- The constitution requires a  high CRIME for impeachment not a "civil violation". Without a crime i would say it is democrats violating the impeachment clause.

None. They don't have to because impeachment is no a criminal case. It is a political issue.

I don't understand why so many people confuse impeachment with crime. There are many crimes - like jaywalking, defacing a mailbox - that are not impeachable. And there are many impeachable offenses - like abuse of power, obstruction of justice - that are not necessarily crimes. They are two different things. So how can we take YOU seriously when you don't even have the facts?

None, this isn't a matter of whether or not a crime was committed. They are trying to impeach him on civil grounds, which is a) using bribery to get a foreign nation to meddle in the 2020 election b) obstruction of congress by blocking witnesses from testifying.

Neither are criminal grounds/matters, both are violations of the constitution however.... might want to educate yourself better before commenting next time.
