Which of the following instruments is capable of simultaneously playing both melody and harmony ?

The obvious choice is the piano, because you can play the melody with your left hand and harmony with your right.
But the violin can do both melody and harmony too, through double-stopping. Not as well as a piano, though.

Piano can play melody and harmony simultaneously the best. Violin can do this extremely well with a very skilled player. Hope this helped.
