I think the lower end tickets  pay more frequently than higher costing scratch offs, but the higher cost tickets pay out more when they  are winners

You buy a ticket and scratch. The winning tickets are random. How can there be any strategy? It is a dumb losing game.

Buy them and hope they win. There is no strategy you can use to win more often. You just get lucky or you do not.

I played scratch offs the very day it started in Va. Back then you could win maybe couple 3 times a week but never to the point I'd profit. Like everything, as soon as the lottery reached a plateau they reduced the # of winners and today it's a seldom thing. Odds are always against you but there is always the exception.

No tip is so. Just hope for dumb luck and know your 99.99999% to win at a profit chance is just that.

Use a quarter to scratch off the ticket, not a dime or nickel.

Generally speaking, the higher denomination tickets usually have slightly better odds.

Having said that, lottery tickets are usually a losing bet.  Play for fun, not for profit!

Ask if you can check they are winners by scratching them off first and then if it's not a winner say you're not happy with it and you'd like to buy a different one, keep going until you get a winner. It's only fair, you check something works before you buy it, or you take it back if it's not working, it's the same thing.
