Change the fractions to make the bottoms the same. Multiplying the top and bottom by 2 changes the 3/5 into 6/10. Now both bottoms are the same, and it is a simple subtraction of 9-6 on top. Therefore the answer is 3/10.

9/10 - 3/5

Find a common denominator. It will be 10 because it's divisible by 10 and 5. Convert them both into 1/10s

9/10 - 6/10 = 3/10

ANS 3/10
