    Triangular numbers are created by adding the next whole number to the previous term.  So the first 7 numbers are:

    1, 3 (added 2 to 1), 6 (added 3 to 3), 10 (added 4 to 6, etc), 15, 21, 28

    Now we just get the mean of this data set:

    (1 + 3 + 6 + 10 + 15 + 21 + 28) / 7

    84/7
