How can Mitch McConnell stop people from testifying without breaking the law ?

    By getting 51 Senators to vote not to have that person testify.  Not that hard.

    What law requires him to allow witness testimony?

    Oh, it doesn't exist. That's why the Democrats were able to refuse to allow testimony in the house from witnesses that might hurt their case.

    outside of the Soviet Union during Stalin's time, courts tend to disallow introduction of new evidence and witnesses without following due process....

    ....that's the purpose of hearings... you know, the time Pelosi swore it wasn't about party, promised to do "due diligence" and not just push through articles of impeachment for the sake of impeaching.... but then produced articles of impeachment that didn't actually specify a crime committed or law broken?

    Nancy Pilosi has no power to demand the senate do what she wants. She doing so is real abuse of power.

    Legally, McConnell does not have to call any witnesses.
