How much is an American vote worth?

Since Russia and news agencies and companies and politicians and friends and family are always trying to get you to vote one way or another, and speed lots of money doing so, what is the cash value of a vote?

The only way to determine what something is worth is to see what people are paying for it.  But since buying or selling votes is illegal, there's no market in votes.

However, it's probably safe to assume that not all votes would be worth the same.  A vote in a swing state would undoubtedly be worth a lot more than a vote in a solidly red or blue state.

I do not know, but I will bet that politicians keep track of things like that
