How do I take hardened grease out of my carpet?

    Grease never hardens. So that is black dirt. So try with hot water to soften it up. Go to WalMart or other automotive store and buy some cream hand cleaner and smear a dollup onto the stain and work it with a scrub brush and then add water and soap and make sudsy and then dry rag it dry and then run an air fan blowing on it to dry the carpet.

    Soak with liquid detergent, remove grease and steam clean.

    Printer paper or brown paper layed over the grease and then use iron over  the aper keep replacing the paper when it's full and keep ironing and replacing until the paper has no grease spots
