What is the best way to find out what is taking up so much space on my hard drive?

It is a 250gb ssd, roommate has a 640gb hdd. Roommate has 3 times more prgrams and games and her's only takes up 213gb. Mine only has 49.7gb left, trying to figure out why mine is so full. Same operating systems.

not all games are the same size. some are less than 100 MB, some are 50 GB.

Win10 takes up nearly 60GB. go to Control Panel > Programs & Features

sort by Date Installed. newest at the top. there should be a column for size.

You have almost 50GB left, meaning you are using only 200GB for your system and games. Your room mate is using 213GB. 13GB is a big difference, and can hold many more games with that space, depending on types of games.

So, there probably is no real difference....

your installed games are probably huge.

Also you actually downvoted the best answer. Someone said go thru your folders manually and check out each one's size. Dont downvote them because you dont know how to do their suggestion.

you can even just arrange the folders by size and it will automatically sort it out from largest to smallest size.

You can use WinDirStat to find out what the biggest folders/files are on the computer.

Not sure exactly but maybe you have a lot of temp and junk files. You can use CCleaner to remove those.

SSDs are fairly cheap nowadays. You should consider upgrading.
