20 percent full RAM vs 80 percent full RAM? is there a difference in computer performance?
what i'm thinking is that 80% full is still not completely full, thus there shouldn't be any difference in performance unless you open another program that uses more than the remaining available RAM.

As long as you are under 100% you are fine. If you go over, you get into paging and swapping, which slows performance. If there is a penalty for having 80% usage over 20%, it wouldn't be noticeable in everyday use. Milliseconds slower if at all.
