English/Grammar Homework?

Rewrite the sentence correctly

can i use the restroom please, asked eddie

I think it should be but I’m not sure -

“Can I use the restroom, please?” asked Eddie.

    "Eddie asked if he may use the restroom."

    "May I please use the restroom?" said Eddie.

    "May I use the restroom, please?" asked Eddie.

    It's not false. But it would be better to use "may" for permission and say:

    “May I use the restroom, please?” asked Eddie.

      Nope, that comma is off in your "fixed" sentence. It cannot be after right after "May".

    To be totally correct, Eddie should have asked 'MAY I use the rest room'.  Because he's not asking if he's able to use the rest room, he's asking permission.

    But most of us would say 'can'.  So yes, it's English as people speak it.
