My 9 year son asks for enemas?

I am a 26 yr old stepmother to a 9 yr old boy. About a month ago I had to give him an enema due to constipation. He took it without any issue. But after that, whenever I give him his bath on a Saturday, he asks me to give him an enema. I have been doing so, but I wonder if there is any harm in this. I used just a tap water solution with a fountain syringe. I know he is enjoying this, and it seems harmless enough, but I was just wondering what others thing, as this is now a weekly occurance.

This sounds suspect, I admit, but infrequent (i.e not every 1-2 days!) enemas are not harmful (whatever you may have heard - just ask an IBS specialist). Though perhaps you should teach him to take his own enemas.

Info - it's a good idea to add a tablespoon of salt (but not table salt!) to each pint of enema water, as a precuation against electrolyte-loss issues.  Alternatively he has a serious backlog, a bulb enema of mixed water and glycerin will doo-doo him (!)

9 years old is not too old to get sexual pleasure from pressure on the prostate gland. Don't give your kid unnecessary enemas they might grow to like things up their butt

It's a good bonding opportunity between a mother and her new son.
