How are atoms and elements related ?

read through my answer here
basically atoms are small particles of matter
elements is a method of grouping "like" atoms
atoms are "like" if they have the same # of protons

Al Element has 1 or more atoms of a single type of proton&neutron count.
H is an element, O is an element
Once they combine, they are called a molecule
H2 is hydrogen gas
O2 is hydrogen gas

An element is a substance that contains only ONE type of atom.

The term "element" refers to the basic building blocks of mature are listed in the periodic table. "Compounds" are two or more elements which are chemically combined to make a new substance.
"Atoms" and "molecules" are terms which describe the actual particles. An atom is the smallest particle of an element. A molecule is the smallest particle of a compound or element. Some elements exist as individual atoms or as molecules with two or more atoms of that element.
Some elements (i.e. C, N and O) could be found as individual atoms, but usually they are parts of compounds, and exist as molecules. Some elements exist as molecules (N2, O2, P4, S8).

An Element is made of atoms and all of its atoms have the same atomic number (the number of protons in the nucleus). An atom is the smallest particle of an element which still has the properties of that element.
Every element has different atoms, that is why they have different properties.

Well atom is the noise u release and the elements are the atoms broken into simpler elements such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen and sulphide
