can i get a us visa without getting letter of invitation from the us?

Your US visa IS a tacit "invitation" from the US to enter its territory. But it's not like China where some additional entity has to approve your entry for a short term stay. Obviously a work or settlement visa requires a sponsor though.

For a tourist visa, US does not use "invitation letters." You must prove you have sufficient funds of your own for all typical tourist expenses: round-trip tickets, hotels, restaurant meals, sightseeing, local/ground transportation, etc. You must also prove your ties to your own country compel you to return home promptly - e.g. a lucrative job which affords you the luxury of expensive vacations.
Invitation letters can be counterproductive, proving you have "ties" to US, such as relatives, and if they are providing accommodations, etc, that proves you cannot afford the vacation. At best, invitation letter is worthless, at worst, is just cause to deny the visa.
Some other type of visa? You need to specify as there are different requirements for different types of visas.

A tourist visa, green card lottery? yes however it depends on what visa you are looking to apply for, many require sponsors, so you have to have an accepted University place before you can apply for a student visa, you have to have a job offer from a registered employer to get a work visa and a sponsoring family member for other immigration visas

If you are asking about a visitor visa then a letter of invitation is not only not required but having one can be a negative. You apply on your own merits and you have to convince the Consular Officer you will exit the USA on schedule plus won't otherwise violate the terms of your visa.
If you are asking about almost any other type of visa then you must have a sponsor in the USA who will be responsible for you.
