a monkey 5m high in a tree throws off a fruit horizontally. it lands 20m from the tree. at what speed did the monkey throw the fruit? pls i need work

    time for the fruit to fall 5 m vertically is given by:

     

    distance = 1/2 * acceleration due to gravity * time^2

    horizontal speed = 20 m / time from above.

    falling time t = √2h/g = √10/9.806 = 1.01 sec

    Vx = d/t = 20/1.01 = 19.8 m/sec
