Yes, but the site is moderated by the community. Yahoo staffers will only get involved when an appeal is launched.

when you report someone, several have to report that person also and many times their answer is never taken off.

Of course.  Every user on here is a moderator, just use the report button when necessary.

Yes, every single user is a moderator (which is why the site is referred to as being Community Moderated). There is no YA Team as in the past, that we can reach out to for serious issues, and no YA staff (that we know of) who are peeking in here and handling violations they see, on the spot.

    .

Report violations when you see them. The apathy many users have developed is one reason the site abusers are flourishing.

It's just amazing how many times I say  it, and prove it,  and yet people still swear you cant talk to Yahoo staff here, to report abuse.   YES, you CAN.

I can't remember that it ever had any.

Ordinary USERS are supposed  to report violations of the guidelines. Most people who bother to do so have given up on "polls&surveys"

No you couldn't, but you could e-mail to y_answrs_team@yahoo.com and they would suspend repeat-offenders that you brought to their attention

These days, everything is just automation.

Which is why legitimate users are often suspended while trolls get off scot-free, especially higher leveled ones.

    Moderators???    NO.

But it does still have Yahoo staff,  who will address your concerns and still suspend accounts,  if you bring the flagrant abuse to their attention.

It's not like they sit here all day, looking at the site for abuse to flag and take down.

You have to really have a serious issue, before they will step in and take action.

I just got my stalker suspended  *again*,  for like the 20th time, just 2 or 3 weeks ago......so complaining  does and still can work.

The daily "moderation" you see going on here, is 90%  stalkers,  with multiple accounts,    hitting report on something, with MULTIPLE accounts,   until it triggers the automatic deletion software.  The content can be 100%  legit and not any kind of violation........but that sort of targeting,   does , unfortunately  work just the same as if multiple  GOOD users,  all reported the same porn, or spam.

We are the moderators....and we moderate by reporting.

Unfortunately, it's often the people we are trying to report..........who are abusing that same system  , with sock puppets.

You have people playing fair here.......and you have the cheaters.  It's always been thus.

Accounts still do get suspended so the answer is yes*.

*Offensive posts, now usually extreme cases, can cause an account to be suspended, once someone brings it to Verizon's attention.

All the true moderators on this site are the users themselves since this site is self-moderated. In the past, there were some dedicated staff members that oversaw the operation and workings of the site, but they no longer exist.
