What percent of calories does the average person consume from meat?

    I did a quick search and couldn't find any stats specific to % of calories consumed for various food groups. It's recommended that 10 - 35% of daily calories come from protein, but of course there are many protein sources that are not meat.

    Well being that there are vegetarians and vegans, are you including these in your question?  What about people with heart disease the are not supposed to eat meat?

    Calories aren't as much concern as carbs which meat has very few. Carbs turn to sugar and then to fat.
