Why are there gay people who claim to be christian?

It's literally against the religion to be gay, so why are there people who think they can be both?

Jesus knew that there would be people who would call him "Lord", but disobey God.  They are just kidding themselves about going to heaven (Mt 7:21-23).

As far as why?, different people have different motives.  Some want to go to heaven, but don't want to give up sin, so they come up with all sorts of rationalizations why the Bible doesn't actually mean what it clearly says (1Cor 6:9).

The rich man in the story (Lk 16:19-31) is a classic case where a Jew thought he could ignore God's command to "love your neighbor" without repercussions.

The one Church Jesus Christ founded, to which He promised the fullness of God's truth, has many homosexual members in good standing. They live their lives as God calls them to live, just like the heterosexual members. Sexual orientation is not a moral issue, since it is not freely chosen. Sexual behavior is a moral issue, regardless of one's orientation, because it is freely chosen.

For the same reason many Christian people claim to follow Christ. So many have forgotten all about the Golden Rule.....and so many are ready to cast the first stone....in fact they are eager to stone others to death and proud of their intolerance........

Most of today's Christians have instilled into people they have "free will" with catholics demonstrating!

    1. Because they were born gay. There's nothing they can do about it.

    2. They grew up and have been "educated" in a Christian family, so they believe in the Christian stuff.

    So simple.

If this is a problem for them or for their Church, provided they live under freedom of religion, they can choose another Church that accepts them, or no religion at all.

It's against certain preachers who tout interpretations of a few lines of the Bible while ignoring Jesus message of love and tolerance throughout the Bible. Jesus himself said nothing against homosexuals and even spoke tolerance about eunuchs. Christians pick and choose passages to justify personal hate. How are their Christians avidly supporting Donald Trump? He is against people in need, cheated on his spouses, lies regularly, is a glutton and narcissist, and does everything against what Jesus taught. Where in the Bible is Jesus spouse, lover, or even a girlfriend? Homosexuality is detrimental to making new Christian babies and certain acts were used by Roman soldiers for punishment, but a loving homosexual relationship out in the open did not exist at the time. The original texts were in Hebrew and Aramaic compiled many years after Jesus death over a long period of time, then translated to ancient Greek before translations to English. This interpretive move against homosexuality is recent. Why don't we kill disobedient children, Walmart's Sunday staff, and every fortune teller? Mixing materials in fabrics? Allowing divorce? Much of the Bible is interpretive. If taken literally, 98% of Christians should be tossed out of the religion for one reason or another. Doesn't it say that only God will judge? How are Christians acting in His name? Let those who are without sin cast the first stone!

Its easy because the whole thing is a big hoax. There is no god and no hell. Homosexuals can claim to be whatever they want. They have nothing to fear.

They think they can choose what rules to follow and what rules not to follow.
