Does knowledge ever go waste?Should you refrain from seeking knowledge that isn't related to your domain?

Update:

For example you are commerce student but you are interested in knowing more about astronomy and want to read books on them in your free time.No employer is going to pay you for your knowledge of astronomy so should you curb your desire to seek such knowledge.

Knowledge is never wasted.  Even if you do never end up needing the direct knowledge of something it will still give you a richer and more nuanced understanding of the larger world and that can help inform your decisions.  Plus, you can kick a** at trivia games.
