In the book of Hebrews, what is the relationship between the earthly tabernacle of the old covenant and the heavenly tabernacle of the new covenant?

Hebrews compares and contrasts the Old Testament physical tabernacle of God with his New Testament spiritual tabernacle.

In the OT, God instructed men how to make his physical tabernacle out of physical materials. At first it was just a big tent. And the Hebrews took it everywhere they went.

Before long God commanded construction of a temple to replace the simple tabernacle. Two temples were built, first by Solomon and then in Jesus' time by Herod. And both were destroyed by Gods enemies.

The message of the New Testament including Hebrews is that since the destruction of Gods temples, the worldwide Christian church is now his tabernacle/temple. He's too big to be housed in temples made by human hands. So he built himself a worldwide spiritual temple consisting of billions of Christians. In short, God now lives spiritually within his Christians.

In this passage, Jesus himself is called God's Tabernacle:

Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

A person can know numerous truths by reciting the rosary every day with care. The Virgin Mary is known as House of Gold because she is, was and forever will be a living tabernacle of the Divinity! Tabernacles tend to be made of gold.

The tabernacle is now within you as the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately,  many Jews at that time, including Paul, hadn't replaced sacrifice with forgiveness as Jesus taught, and that is still the case in many churches and with many people. Matt 12.7

If you hear sacrifice is the way to salvation, you aren't listening to the Holy Spirit, you are listening to the other one.
