Different countries have different rules for this.

In what country are you a student?

No. Nobody can "sponsor" a tourist, nor can anyone file a tourist visa application for another person (except parents applying for their minor child along with their own visas).

To apply for a tourist visa, the person must prove they have sufficient funds of their own (NO money from you!) for all typical tourist expenses: round-trip tickets, hotels, restaurant meals, sightseeing admissions, local/ground transportation, etc. Above all, they must prove their ties to their own country compel them to return home promptly.

Anyone who tried to "sponsor" a tourist proves that the person does not have enough money of their own, and has "ties" to the country they want to "visit." Big Red Flags that the person is not a genuine tourist, and certainly does not qualify for such a visa.

No one needs sponsorship for a tourist visa.
