Movie about astronaut using a Tarp/parachute as a roof for his spacecraft.?

I can’t remember the movies Title, but it had this one scene where the astronaut had to deploy a parachute to cover up the whole on the top of his UFO looking craft, while trying to meet up with more astronauts to rescue him in space

    The Martian.

Matt Damon's character had to save as much weight as possible.

So he got rid of any non essential equipment, including the front hatch.

The vacuum was not a problem since he was already wearing his space suit.

And the aerodynamic turbulence was a minor issue in light martian atmosphere

Did you have a question?  And what does this have to do with REAL astronomy and space?

That was The Martian.  OK movie except for that silly rescue scene.
