Studying for GED and lacking certain skills... Tips on how to improve them?

Hey there,

I'm studying Social Studies, and I've taken the $6 practice test on the official GED website several times. I passed it almost every time, but I haven't gotten more than 150 points (passing score is 145). I'd like to score at least 155-160 before I go and take the real test. On the pre test, I noticed there were a lot of questions that requires you to do the following:

1. Analyze how events and situations shape the author's point of view

2. Analyze arguments

3. Analyze cause-and-effect relationships

I've been having a lot of difficulty with these, especially 1 and 2. How do I improve these skills?

Thanks, any help is highly appreciated! :)
