do avocado trees grow in a tropical rain forest?

I was told avocado trees came from the rain forest, but their root get root rot easy

    They grow in cloud forests, not rain forests. They prefer damp leaves rather than roots.

    No, they would not thrive in that kind of environment.

    no they grow in avocado forests, the land of the avocado-loving monkeys who get fat from eating too many avocadoes 

    • That is spectacled bears, not monkeys. Contrary to popular opinion, small south American bears prefer avocado to marmalade.
