Hypothetically: should NASA have sent humans to space, they have been living there and some radical lost the data, how would they ever?
Be able to return or get someone to believe who they really are?

The data would exist in millions of places, like newspaper stories, plus millions of people's memories. no way all of those could be lost.
How many stories have been in the news about the ISS in the last year? millions at least.
