Can you learn the splits when you are 30?

I have been stretching for 10 months in order to do side splits. At the beginning every day, then I had tendinitis so I stopped for a month and since then 3 to 5 times a week. For 4 months now I have been stuck and I can’t reach the floor (I am 6.5 in / 17 cm from the floor) and I am not moving anywhere with the progress. What is the trick then I have to do in order to learn the splits properly?

I saw these kids on YouTube learn it within a month which obviously was not my expectation considering my age but I thought by now I would be able to do them. Please, somebody who has experience with my age category to explain how to do it.
