That is why people have a will, which states your wishes to your loved ones.

Most times people do not honor your wishes.  You can leave instructions but who knows if anyone will follow them.  If you're thinking of committing suicide call 911 right away and tell them what you plan to do.

If you have a terminal illness, start giving your stuff away now, so that when you're gone, there won't be anything.  If there are family members who want something of yours, write their names on those items, and let people know those items go to those people.  An alternative (if you're not ill) is to make out your will and designate what you want done with your things.  You could will some things to a homeless shelter or to some ministry (like Salvation Army) that might use them.

Give everyone the chance to cherry pick what they may want to keep, and donate the rest to charity for others to use.

Give it to good will but most hold this stuff

Out of respect and cherish it like a museum

Of your life. They simply can't get rid of it

    For emotional reasons.
