Why is capitalism bad?

Is capitalism to blame for the state of current U.S. healthcare costs? Didn't capitalism steadfastly end centuries of widespread famine and poverty? Don't most Americans work for more than the minimum wage?

It isn't.  Without, capitalism, NO one (in America) would have any money to spend on anything.  Socialism IS BAD because NO one will have any money to spend on anything.

SOCIALISM DOES A  GOOD JOB OF SPREADING THE WEALTH BUT DOESN'T DO A GOOD JOB OF CREATING THE WEALTH

CAPITALISM DOES A GOOD JOB OF CREATING WEALTH BUT DOESN'T DO A GOOD JOB OF SPREADING THE WEALTH

Because it makes a minority richer at the expense of everybody else

"Didn't capitalism steadfastly end centuries of widespread famine and poverty?"

strictly speaking, NO, fractional reserve banking did. Getting ever deeper in debt is how we keep economies growing despite money trickling up to those who have no need to spend it

"Don't most Americans work for more than the minimum wage?"

irrelevant if that minimum isn't enough to live on

  • Regulated capitalism that is built on a long-term model of sustainable growth and innovation is a good thing.  Unregulated capitalism values short-term gains, with no planning for the future.  It is not sustainable, it does not place value on anything that doesn't turn a profit and it is dangerous to any society that wants to last.

All economic models serve those who own the means of production.  Capitalism, unregulated, serves only those at the very top.  Regulation, especially in a democratic society, places power back into the workforce.

    • You missed the innovation part as well.  The Cotton Gin industry doesn't exist anymore because we have better methods of processing cotton.  Create new tech fields through innovation, grow, innovate, create new tech again, old tech dies off, rinse lather repeat...

Anything taken to an extreme is bad. Moderation is the key. Aristotle called it the Golden Mean.

Jeff Bezos has enough money to house every homeless person in LA for years. I work 60 hours a week doing back-breaking labor and don’t make enough for a savings account. That’s not an acceptable economic system.

Capitalism is great. The most socialist country in the world is North Korea. The most capitalist are:

    Hong Kong.

    Singapore.

    New Zealand.

    Switzerland.

    Australia.

    Ireland.

    United Kingdom.

    Canada.

I do not think that word means what you think it means. You are looking for the ford facist, not socialist.

Capitliasm has turned the US into the largest economy and military power by far

Poor people in the US walk around with smart phones and have access to a bigger breadth of products than most of the world can dream of. That's why people try to get into this country so hard
