after a cortisone injection  i have severe pain in my knee is it normal ?

    Yes I did, I iced it, took a few days for it to settle down.

    Depends upon the kind of pain. In many cases, a cortisone shot is a troubleshooting step (least cost first). If inflammation is the problem, the cortisone shot should relieve it. Look for about 2-3 days for the full effect. (It's not uncommon to have pain at the injections site). If you find the cortisone shot has done little to nothing after about 1 week; report it to your doctor. Next will come more expensive steps....probably an MRI so they can see what's going in there.
