Could a virgin have an STD and not know?
As far as I know, the only way a virgin* could have an STD would be from a disease being passed down from an infected mother via childbirth or pregnancy. If this situation were to occur, could this person live their life with said STD and be unaware of it?
*By virgin, I mean absolute virgin, in every sense. No physical contact whatsoever.

In reality, there are no STDs. Any so-called STD, like say Chlamydia, can be contracted by a virgin, and not just from an infected mother. Diseases are caused by toxins, not germs or viruses. Sexually active people may be more likely to use products on their private parts that may cause disease, e.g. soaps, douches but they don't have a monopoly on any disease.Source(s): The book 'Fear of the Invisible' by investigative reporter Janine Roberts

doubtful, assuming the virgin is older. if the mom has an STD during birth, it is possible to pass it on to the newborn

How old is she? Any girl that sits on a commode might get it.

You can get some "STD"s from skin contact without sex, like herpes or crabs or anal warts or HPV.

sharing a needle would do it
and yes, some STD's can be around without the patient noticing, for quite a while

Only if, as you say, it is congenital -- contracted from the mother during pregnancy or childbirth.
It's possible for someone to live a fairly long time with syphilis and not know it, yes, though many babies develop problems early on -- within a month or two. However, gonorrhea can cause blindness (it's the reason that newborns are immediately treated with special eye drops, just in case) and problems with the joints, blood, and brain in a child.
Other STDs might not be obvious for some time. Chlamydia can be passed to a newborn but have no obvious symptoms.

It's VERY unlikely you have an STD, you could have an UTI though.
