Why did people live so poorly during the Victorian era? If the Queen was so rich and snobby, why did all the people in the UK live so badly?

You have to remember something; those in power had the money and the land. Everyone else, lived where the Queen told them to live and most worked for the Queen. This is just the way it was during that time.

Britain might have been the righest and most powerful nation in the world but that doesn't mean it got as far as the British people. Capitalism and empire don't work that way. 10% of people at the top creamed off 80% of the wealth for themselves. At least.

Well its just a typical capitalist outcome? The rich get richer and the poor have to pay the costs?

Why do people live so poorly today, even with social insurance and public health care? We have slums crime and drugs, just like the Victorians did. Just like the Georgians before them did too.
Greed. Sloth. The fast pace of change. Wars making crippled and orphans. Famines. Disease. Refusal to share. Refusal to live within one's means. Those are only some of the reasons.
Why blame the Victorians when we haven't done better.

For the same reason that today we're seeing Bloomberg and others make more than the 120,000,000 poorest Americans totaled together. Wealth buys more wealth.

There was no social safety network in the Victorian era or before, so you did what you had to do to stay alive.

Because the rich had either a long line of descendants who acquired wealth by force (e.g. the aristocracy, like the Queen) or by mixing talent and being funded by those who had an eye for a good venture (such as inventors who became industrialists) and of course exploitation as well (of workers and those in colonies and former colonies like trans-/multinational corporations).

The same reason then, as now
consider Trump and the average american who is told that a health plan that will cover everyone, is Communism and to be feared
consider Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings persuading poor people to destroy their own economy for the sake of profiting disaster capitalists.
there are similar examples in every country in the world, some do it by force (North Korea) some do it by mainstream media..........
why pick on Victoria?

Because factories in Northern England (especially) built back-to-back houses for their employees.

Queen Victoria was wealthy. So were a lot of people like mill owners, workhouse owners, Lords etc
The rest of the people were poor
