In a universe of infinite possibilities is death the only way out of this reality?
Our votech instructor took us on a field trip to a worksite where we got to do some actual electrical wiring. He wandered off by himself for a moment and farted so loud he probably pooped some in his pants. “Gross!” a female student shouted. The instructor laughed then said “No one gets out of here alive so you might as well be yourself.”
On the 2 hour bus drive back to class there was nothing to do but ponder the instructor’s philosophical revelation: No one gets out of here alive. We all wondered how in a universe of infinite possibilities death could be the only way out of this reality.

Every time you've learned something new, seen a new place, met a new person or had a new experience you've changed your reality, so escape IS possible in this lifetime. My reality changes daily. Not a lot, but a little. As far as a "universe of infinite possibilities" goes, it's a universe of seemingly limitless possibilities, but they aren't in fact infinite. This is because the universe itself is finite, therefore the possibilities are finite too.

Infinite possibilities, by nature, means that, without a shred of doubt, there exists the possibility for another means of escape, though it may not be what you expect.

It's very possible that the soul who adopts the ways of virtue, of Godliness, realizes his or her life, post-passing, in a better way.
Kant might have been more cautious, based on the Categorical Imperative, about certain loud or disharmonious actions.

Who told you that possibilities are infinite?
