A colonoscopy isn't painful - during or after. Before the procedure begins, you've given a light anesthesia via an IV line. You'll be asleep throughout the entire thing, and you won't know anything that going on. When you wake up, you'll get up, get dressed, and go home. That's all there is to it.
Most baseline colonoscopies are done around 50 years of age. That's the earliest age that most private insurance plans will pay for a baseline colonoscopy. Most colon cancers are diagnosed in people who are 45 to 55 years of age.

You don't feel them. You're unconscious.

Ask your neurofibromatosis doctor.

Not with modern anesthesia. it turns you off and on like a light switch.
The prep is, well, a pain in the azz. You do not want to be in the middle of a parking lot when it goes to work

They aren't painful at all, as you're usually in a sedated state. It's the prep one or two days before that is the "not fun" part. You have to empty your bowels so they can see whether or not you have polyps or whatever. I have Crohn's and have to have one every 2 years...

No pain but IDK the answers to your other Qs.

Annoying, uncomfortable maybe, but not painful.
The worst bit is actually the stuff you have to take before to clean up your colon. That stuff tastes *awful*.

the evacuation of your bowels before hand is actually the only painful part

Well, you will be sedated, so even if it were painful, you would not remember.
