Do you avoid places where they say they don't want to pay your lunch hour ?

I know they are toxic places but would you keep working there? It is against professional standards to say that.

  • The only places that pay you for your 30 minute lunch break are some places that work 3 - 8 hour shifts around the clock & some of them only pay you for the 7 1/2 hours you actually work.

You school teachers really don't have the foggiest idea how things work in the REAL world do?

I think you are possibly thinking about the paid 15 min break??

but most places the 30 min lunch break is unpaid - only ever knew one workplace that paid their guys for the 30 min lunch break and a 30 min morning break ----and that was because they literally worked them to the bone..literally, cause it was the logistics end of a slaughterhouse ahaha

but yeah the job was basically lifting 35kg boxes(77lbs) off conveyors all day long, only "break" from lifting you got was driving the forks for a minute after the pallet was done to move the pallet off and put a new one on the turntable....ahhhhh no thanks :P

  • No.

Why should someone get paid to eat or goof off? What contribution are they making to the business during that hour?
