Seeing how the stock market reacted to Bernie Sanders winning Nevada by a wide margin, how can anyone defend Obama?

Clearly, the stock market negatively reacted to Obama long before he won the election. There might have been a modest recession if he had never ran, but there wouldn't have been an economic collapse. Also, why is it everyone always compares Obama's second term to Trump's first term? Give Trump some time! In Obama's first term, the stock market was lower than the peak under George W. Bush.

In Obama's first term, the stock market went below the tech bubble high several times. Adjusted for inflation, the stock market in the first three years of Obama's presidency was well below the January 2000 tech bubble peak. In 2010-2011, the stock market hovered between 10k-11k. The 2007 peak was 14k.

Now look what happened after Bernie Sanders won just one state by a landslide. If Bernie Sanders wins the general election, another economic meltdown is on its way. Only this time there will be more inflation.

We do not need to defend former President Obama.

Why do you continue to defend Impeached President trump?

Obama has the advantage of saying that all of his faults are the result of his inherited economy. He also says that if the Republicans won the 2012 election there would have been another recession. Therefore, there is an illusion that the economy under Obama was not bad as it could have theoretically been worse.

Under Sanders, the economy will break. In fact, just the threat of him being the nominee of the Democratic Party, and changing the values of the party's "moderates" (the party adjusts to the nominee), will cause a deficit in future elections. If he is elected as president, our economy will collapse under Bernie Sanders' useless plans and immense debt.

For the record, Bernie's policies are nothing like Denmark in any way. Neither in taxation, healthcare, and the general ideology. Denmark is a Social Democracy, which is actually a Capitalist structure; Bernie is a Democratic Socialist (Which is a generic term that covers both Orthodox Marxism and Socialism under its umbrella)

If Romney had won, the Fed would have raised interest rates. Obama is the only president to have 0 percent interest rates during both terms. That makes Obama the worst president ever.

Because Obama actually accomplished things in his first term.  Name something that Trump PROMISED to do "within 100 days of first being in office" (his words), that he has not accomplished in three YEARS (that's nearly 1100 days - 11 times longer than he promised).

The stock market fell because we were in the midst of the nation's 2nd worst economic disaster, not because Obama was running for president. The DOW hit record highs under Obama - don't be an idiot. As for this time around, all indications are that there is a concern on how the coronavirus will affect both demand and global supply chains.

"in the midst of the nation's 2nd worst economic disaster." The beginning of the recession was just like any other recession. It's the tail end of the recession that was cataclysmic. Which corresponds to Obama winning his first state.

It wasn't the debate that caused the market to fall - it fell before the debate...try listening to someone other that that fool in the WH.

The debate? Are you trying to be funny? Where did I say anything about a debate? Bernie Sanders won the Nevada primary by a wide margin. Causing the stock market on Monday to go down 1k. Currently, the stock market is the lowest it's been in four months thanks to Bernie Sanders.

True. But I will get free health insurance and my college education will have been paid for - all at no cost to me. So yes, you might need to pay up for your fellow citizens. It's called compassion. Bernie 2020.

It's not just that he won Nevada, it's that he won Nevada by a wide margin. Also, Buttegieg is unpopular by African Americans. Iowa and New Hampshire don't have very many African Americans. Therefore, Bernie Sanders has a much stronger position than the number of delegates he holds suggest.

Great. Inflation grows the economy and when the stock market collapses, I buy stock.

Inflation is bad. Under Bernie Sanders, inflation will be comparable to what it was like 40 years. That is, the Treasury yield will be more than twice GDP growth. That means a shrinking economy.
