how does the french system of health care compare to USA system?

    Simple : If you have to wait 30-60 days to see your dr. you will not cause expenses to go up and if the system is lucky you will die and cost the system nothing....

    That is socialized medicine in a nut shell.

    Apparently much better, given that life expectancy is 4 years longer there than in the USA.

    all French citizens are guaranteed a minimum level of care about on par with medical corporations and walk-in clinics in the USA.... advanced and more-personalized services are available to those who pay out of pocket...

    of course, this system is funded via heavy taxation..... and many people here also don't seem to realize that when a state has the power to dictate "livable" wages, that applies to what is "livable" for employers as well.. in other words, they have wage caps as well as minimums...

    in other words, most middle-class folks in those systems can't afford the higher-end care available to most middle-class Americans...
